Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

The danger increases when the wind picks up. Avoid areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies.

You can very easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

I skogen ligger det være svært mye tørr løssnø. Over tregrensa er det myke eller harde fokksnøflak og stedvis områder med løs snø. Det gamle snødekket er stor sett smelteomvandlet og ha en gunstig oppbygging.

Det ligger et lag av kantkorn dypt i snødekket. Dette laget er vanskelig å påvirke og anses ikke som problem for tiden.

Little to no precipitation. Strong breeze from east, changing to fresh breeze from the east during the afternoon. -22 °C to -14 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Thursday 9. March 2023

10 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Fresh breeze from southwest, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during renoon. -26 °C to -12 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

OPPDATERT torsdag: Skredfaren ventes å øke om ettermiddagen. Langs kysten kommer det nysnø kombinert med til dels kraftig vind. Dette vil danne flak som vil være svært lett å løse ut mens været står på. Kaldt vær gjør at stabilisering av fokksnøen tar tid.
