Locally unstable conditions. Be aware that there can be pockets with persistent weak layers and unstable wind slabs.

Avalanche problems

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Snøoverflaten er preget av lørdagens kraftige vind og består mange steder av fokksnø av varierende hardhet eller er avblåst ned til gammel smelteomvandlet snøoverflate.

Observasjoner fra høyden viser at svakt lag av kantkorn fra kuldeperioden i jan/feb fortsatt kan være intakt noen steder.

Avalanche risk assessment

Lørdagens fokksnøflak vil gradvis stabilisere seg og det skal nå mer til for å løse ut skred. Mest utsatt er heng mot S-SØ-Ø.

Høyt til fjells i den østlige delen av regionen, som rundt Raundalen og Nærøydalen kan det finnes svakt klag av kantkorn som fortsatt kan påvirkes.
