You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

I nordvendt terreng over 800 moh ligg det opptil 10-15 cm tørr snø som stadvis er i ferd med å omdanne seg til kantkorn. I solsidene blir snøen fukta opp på dagtid og frys til att om natta.

Det gamle snødekket er stabilt og i stor grad smelteomdanna.

Snøgrensen går rundt 400-500 moh.

Vêrforholda siste tid gir høve for kantkorndanning i overflata.

2-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l. Breeze from southeast. -8 °C to 1 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Saturday 20. April 2024

8-10 mm precipitation. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from north. -8 °C to -1 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nysnø og litt vind i fjellet gir flakdanning og skredfare i leområder.

I enkelte lune områder kan nysnø- og fokksnøflak legge seg på kantkorn eller rim. Den gamle snøen er hard og kan lett forplante brudd i flaka. Desse forholda forsterkar skredproblemet. Vær derfor spesielt merksam om det er sprekker eller drønn i snøen.

I områder som får mindre snø er det lågare skredfare.

I bratte solvendte sider kan det lausne små skred av seg sjølv utpå dagen.
