Avalanche problems

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Loose snow

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Fredag har mildvær og regn påvirket snødekket høyt til fjells.

Det finnes vedvarende svake lag både i forbindelse med skarelag og langs bakken mange steder i høyden. Disse har siste tiden vært vanskelig å påvirke.

Torsdag ble et hus truffet av et lite skred Honningsvåg.

1-3 mm precipitation. Rain up to 900 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from southeast. -3 °C to 1 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Sunday 13. March 2022

No precipitation. Fresh breeze from southeast. -6 °C to 0 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Mildværet fortsetter og solen vil titte frem. Nattefrost har virket noe stabiliserende på snødekket, men når temperaturen stiger vil det enda være lett å løse ut skred i den våte snøen. Husk at også små skred kan gi konsekvenser nær terrengfeller.

Fokksnø i høyden vil stabilsere seg grunnet gunstige temperaturer.
