Avalanche warning for region Hardanger Monday 04.04.2022

Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Snøoverflata ber preg av nedbør og vind frå helga med pålagring i søraustlege leheng. Lange periodar med høg temperatur har gjeve eit smeltomdanna snødekke høgt til fjells. Det er bærande skare til ca 1000 moh.
Det er generelt mykje snø i fjellet og snøgrensa ligg mellom 200 til 400 moh.

Det finst kantkorn i snødekket, men eigenskapane er framleis ikkje ugunstige nok til å utgjere eit skredproblem.

14 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from northwest. -10 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Monday 4. April 2022

7 mm precipitation, up to 15 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from south, changing to fresh breeze from the northwest during renoon. -9 °C to -3 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Det ligg ferske fokksnøflak i hovedsakleg søraustlege leheng. Låg temperatur gjer at stabiliseringa går sakte. Stadvis kan flak ligge på hardt underlag, eventuelt svake lag av kantkorn og soleis vere lette å løyse ut.
