Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

The danger increases when the wind picks up. Avoid areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies.

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Snøoverflata per generelt preg av mykje vind og med fokksnø i typiske leområder. Det eldre snødekket er jamt over smelteomvandla til fjelltopphøgde. Det er lite snø i låglandet og generelt for årstida.

Det er observert byrjande kantkorn i nederste del av snødekket, men desse er låst av hard skare og vanskeleg å påverke.

35 mm precipitation, up to 60 mm in the most exposed areas. Gale from southeast, changing to strong breeze from the west during the evening. -5 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 12. March 2021

16 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from west, changing to fresh breeze from the southwest during the afternoon. -4 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Pågåande kraftig vind som dreiar vestleg vil gje pålagring og utvide skredproblemet. Det vil ligge ferske ustabile flak i nordvestlege til nordaustlege leområder. Skred kan gå naturleg og enkelte stadar verte store.
