You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

I helgen kom det en del nysnø. Etter dette har først mildvær, også kaldere vær påvirket snøoverflaten. Noen steder har snøoverflaten fryst til skare.

Det finnes et vedvarende svakt lag av kantkorn under skare høyt i snødekket.

6-10 mm precipitation. Rain up to 1200 m a.s.l Thursday night. Strong breeze from southeast, changing to breeze from the west during the afternoon. -7 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 17. February 2023

Little to no precipitation. Fresh breeze from southeast. -10 °C to -2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Høyt til fjells finnes det et vedvarende svakt lag av kantkorn som ligger under skare. Kantkornlaget befinner seg høyt i snødekke men ligger for det meste under hard og refrossen snø. Generelt skal det stor tilleggsbelastning til for å løse ut skred, men skred som løsner kan bli store.
