You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det har kommet mye snø i høyfjellet denne uken. Snøgrensen har variert mellom 0 og 800 moh i løpet av uken. I løpet av fredagen kom det nysnø ned til havnivå. Fuktig opp til 100-200 moh. Heng som har vært skjermet for vinden fra vest og nord har mye snø. Opp til skoggrensen er snødekket tynnere enn normalt.

I indre deler av Sunnmøre har det blitt observert dårlig stabilitet i øvre del av snødekket. Sannsynligvis er det kantkorndannelse rundt skarelag i høydeintervallet mellom skoggrensen og opp til rundt 1100 moh.

Det var lett å løse ut små testheng på Høgenibba på fredagen.

25 mm precipitation, up to 35 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l Friday night. Strong breeze from north. -10 °C to -3 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Saturday 25. February 2023

5 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Fresh breeze from north. -11 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.
