You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

I høgda er det fersk fokksnø i leområder.
Pågåande mildvêr vil starte smelteomdanning av snødekket opp til omlag 7- 800 moh.
Det eldre snødekket er hardt og berande.

Det er litt kantkornutvikling rundt skare frå mildvær i desember, men ikkje eit skredproblem.

1-5 mm precipitation. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l Thursday night. Breeze from northwest. -6 °C to 1 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Friday 12. January 2024

8 mm precipitation, up to 15 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 700 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from west, changing to breeze from the west during the afternoon. -7 °C to -1 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nedbør og vind vil legge opp fersk fokksnø i leområder over mildværsgrensa. Gunstige temperaturar vil gje ei forholdsvis rask stabilisering i fokksnøen.

Det eldre snødekket er hardt og berande. Dei gunstige temperaturane gjer at den ferske fokksnøen bind seg forholdsvis raskt til den eldre snøen.
