Avalanche warning for region Trollheimen Thursday 24.12.2020

Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Wind and fresh snow may give instable conditions. Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger there. Especially avoid convex terrain.

You can easily trigger avalanches on many steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Det har kome 20-40 cm snø siste døgnet, mest i vestlege delar av regionen. Nedbøren har kome i sterk vind frå nordvest. Snøgrensa ligg på 500 - 800 moh., lågast i indre deler av regionen.

Det har vore kantkorning i snødekket, men det er førebels ikkje eit problem.

Pågåande sterk vind frå nordvest og lokalt mykje ny nedbør vil auke pålagringa i søraustlege leområder. Stadvis kan flak ligge på svakt lag kantkorn eller glatt skare. Skred kan soleis vere lette å løyse ut og verte store.
