Consequence

Landslides are expected, some with considerable consequences. Large slides may reach settlements, roads and railways.

Advice

Keep yourself updated about the development of the weather, the landslide and flood situation, and follow the weather radar. Keep away from steep slopes, as well as streams and rivers with high discharge. Municipalities, Counties and other emergency operators should continuously evaluate the need for preparedness and prevention measures.

Description

Risk of slushflows is especially high in areas with more than 50 cm snow. The snow may in some places be fully water-saturated. Slushflows are triggered even in relatively gentle slopes, where water accumulates. Slushflows follow terrain depressions and may develop into debris flows. Steep slopes, as well as streams and rivers with high discharge, are particularly exposed. With the current forecast, certain parts of the region are more exposed. Details are found in the warning message in Norwegian. Heavy rain is expected.
