Published: Valid: from 30.03.2023 14:00 to 31.03.2023 20:00

Warning

Snow

Consequence

Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected by large accumulations of snow. Travel time may increase on many journeys. Driving conditions can be hazardous. Blowing snow causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads.

Advice

Vulnerable installations and objects should be protected. Consider whether the journey is necessary. Allow a lot of extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving. Follow advice and check status from transport operators. Check road reports (175.no). The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.

Description

At the weather stations approximately 30 cm of snow is observed at the most from Thursday morning to Friday morning, while some other stations have observed approximately 20 cm of precipitation. At Varsom RegObs an observer has registered 50 cm of snow near Alteidet in Kvænangen. Friday afternoon the wind will decrease to north gale force 7. 10-25 cm of snow is expected from Friday morning to afternoon.
