Vulnerable infrastructure can be affected due to accumulation of snow. Travel time may increase on some journeys. Local driving conditions may become difficult. Blowing snow causes reduced visibility and possibly convoys and/or closed roads.

Advice

Vulnerable installations and objects should be protected. Allow some extra time for transportation and driving. Use tires fit for winter conditions and use caution while driving. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors.

Description

From Saturday evening to Sunday morning there is expected intense snow showers in the coastal areas of Vest-Finnmark. It is highly uncertain in which location the most intense showers will be located, but there is potential for up to 20-40 cm during 12 to 18 hours in the most exposed places. In addition there will be southwest near gale force 7 in exposed places, and during early Sunday morning the wind will be veering to northeast force 6. Thus, there will be a lot of wind-transported snow.
