Consequence

Risk of flooding of low-lying densely populated areas. Check varsom.no for more information. Locally difficult driving conditions, especially at waterways. Roads may be closed. Many journeys may have longer travel time. Road conditions affected with road spray and hydroplaning in some places. The road surface can locally be covered with wet ice. Some places may temporarily lose the road connection, often several days.

Consider the need for preventive measures. Follow the advice of emergency authorities, both local and governmental. The need for emergency preparedness shall be assessed continuously by emergency response actors. Consider whether the journey is necessary. Check road reports (175.no). Adjust the speed and use caution while driving.

Description

Saturday very heavy rain is expected, 80-100 mm/24 hours. 10-40 mm has fallen since midnight. The most intense precipitation is now in Salten and Ofoten, and will move northwards this evening, and out of the area early Saturday. 5-10 mm/h is expected.
