Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Wind slabs are especially easy to trigger where they are thin or soft.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Vind fra sørøst og sør har preget regionen den siste uken. Snøoverflata er preget av vind, fokksnøflakene er stort sett harde.
Mildvær i slutten av januar førte til at snødekket i ytre strøk ble smelteomdannet og generelt stabilt. I indre strøk påvirket ikke mildværet like mye.

Lørdag ble to naturlig utløste skred registrert i nærheten av Honningsvåg. Fredag ble det observert ferske skred ved Stabbursnes, størrelse og om naturlig utløst er ukjent.

Avalanche risk assessment

Enkelte snøbyger, men ellers stort sett rolig vær er i vente. Fokksnøen stabiliseres gradvis. Søndag og mandag er det vind fra nordvest. Om det dannes ferske fokksnøflak vil du som skiløper fortsatt kunne lett løse ut skred i dette.
