Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Glide avalanches

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Det har vært høye temperaturer i fjellet siste uken og snødekket er for det meste smelteomvandlet og stabilt.
Snødekkets hardhet varierer med temperatur, fuktighet og vind.
Snøgrensen er på 500 - 600 moh, og høyest vest i regionen.

Saturday 27. April 2019

20 mm precipitation, up to 30 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from east, changing to fresh breeze from the east during the evening. 1 °C to 6 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Med varslet regn vil stabiliteten i snødekket svekkes og enkelte naturlig utløste skred kan forventes. I bratte heng med myk og våt snø vil det stedvis være lett å løse ut våte løssnøskred.

Faren for glideskred vil øke noe med regn og mildvær. Hold avstand til sider med glidesprekker.

Hold avstand til skavler på rygger, egger og topper.
