Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Glide avalanches

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Snødekket framstår som smelteomvandlet og stabilt, og det har smeltet mye snø siden før påske.
Snødekkets hardhet varierer med temperatur, fuktighet og vind.
Det er skiføre fra 700-1000 moh. En må gjerne høyest for å finne sammenhengende snø sør og vest i regionen, stedvis helt opp til 12-1300 moh avhengig av hengretning.

20 mm precipitation, up to 30 mm in the most exposed areas. Strong breeze from east, changing to fresh breeze from the east during the evening. 1 °C to 6 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

5 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Fresh breeze from east. 2 °C to 7 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Regn svekker stabiliteten i snødekket selv om det for det meste drenerer vann bra. I noen bratte heng med myk og våt snø vil det være mulig å løse ut små våte løssnøskred. Sør og vest i regionen må du stedvis høyt til fjells før du råker på skredproblemet.

Det er fare for glideskred der snøen ligger på bratt og glatt underlag, hold avstand til sider med glidesprekker.

Hold avstand til skavler på rygger, egger og topper.
