You can very easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Sunday 22. December 2019

Mildvêr fredag fukta snødekket i ulik grad opp til om lag 1100 moh. Mykje vind frå S den siste veka har påverka snøfordelinga i regionen. Det er meir snø enn normal aust og sør i regionen, mindre i N. Snøgrensa ligg på om lag 400 moh.
Kantkorn djupt i snødekket er påverka av varme i dei fleste høgdenivå og er ikkje vurdert som skredproblem.

Søndag er det framleis høge temperaturar og nedbøren kjem som snø over omlag 600 moh.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nysnø i fjellet vil gi pålagring i leheng der vinden er sterk nok til å flytte snø. Nysnøflaka vil vere mjuke og svært lett å påverke for ein skikøyrar. Det er verken sterk nok vind eller store nok nysnømengder til at skredproblemet gir aukande faregrad. Det gamle snødekket er vurdert som stabilt etter tidlegare mildvêr.
