You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Over 600 moh ligg det no nysnø i regionen frå søndag og måndag. Mildvêr før helga fukta snødekket i ulik grad opp til om lag 1100 moh. Mykje vind frå S den siste veka har påverka snøfordelinga i regionen. Det er meir snø enn normal aust og sør i regionen, mindre i N. Snøgrensa ligg på om lag 400 moh.

6 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Fresh breeze from east. -3 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 24. December 2019

4-8 mm precipitation. Breeze from east. -8 °C to -2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Det er vinden som styrer om skredproblemet er tilstades. Der nysnøen har bunde seg til mjuke flak vil det vere lett å løyse ut flakskred opp i str. 2. Det er gunstige temperaturar slik at snødekket stabiliserar seg raskt. Faren er difor størst så lenge der snøar og bles. Det gamle snødekket er vurdert som stabilt etter tidlegare mildvêr.
