Avalanche warning for region Heiane Monday 03.05.2021

Generally stable conditions. A few mm of new snow might give small windslabs in the mountains a few places. Small avalanches can be easely triggered where there is buried surface hoar under the fresh snow.

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can very easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1) Remote triggering is possible.

Snøoverflaten er for det meste smelteomvandlet og hard etter mildvær med påfølgende gjenfrysing. Høyt til fjells kan det fortsatt være tørr fokksnø i skyggesider. I sørsider er mye av snøen smeltet bort.

Det kom opp mot 5cm nysnø natt til lørdag helt ned til 500moh lengst vest i regionen.

3-6 mm precipitation. Breeze from west. -8 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nattefrost gjør at snødekket fryser til og danner en stabil snøoverflate. Det er ventet litt ny nedbør og i fjellet kan det dannes ustabile nysnøflak. Enkelte steder kan nysnøen legge seg på rim og små skred kan bli svært lett å løse ut.
