You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Under tregrensa ligger 10-25 cm løssnø. Over tregrensa ved ca. 600 moh finnes myke flak og tegn på vindpåvirkning i snøen. Det er lite snø på rygger, stein er synlig. Noen steder er skaren blåst frem, andre steder fokksnø. Før vindøkningen onsdag fantes det overflaterim både over og under tregrensa.

Det finnes skarelag i snøen opp til ca. 800 moh. Det er ikke gjort vesentlige observasjoner av svake lag i forbindelse med dette.

Det finnes også kantkornet snø ved bakken fra ca. 1000 moh. og oppover.

Onsdag morgen var det på Mannen i Rauma (1294 moh) -10 °C og 14 m/s frisk bris fra sørørst.

Ferske fokksnøflak etter kraftig vind onsdag og først på torsdag kan kan være lett å løse ut.

Skredfaren er størst i områder med ferske fokksnøflak og leområder som har samlet mye snø de siste dagene.
