Avalanche warning for region Romsdal Tuesday 21.02.2023

Danger level 3 - Considerable avalanche danger

Avoid lee areas with fresh wind deposited snow. The snow from Monday will need some time to stabilize. The sun may cause some avalanches in steep terrain.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

Avalanches may release spontaneously on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Det ligg til dels våt nysnø heilt ned til havnivå og tørr nysnø i fjellet etter fleire omgangar med nedbør, vekslande temperatur og kraftig vind sist helg. Opp til ca. 700 moh, er det meste av den gamle snøpakka under nysnøen smelteomdanna og stabil. Opp til ca. 1300 moh er det mykje smelteomdanna og gjenfrosen snø under nysnøen.

Natt til måndag var det på Mannen i Rauma (1291 moh) -3 °C på det varmaste. I Molde kom det 16 mm nedbør på 6 timar, natt til måndag.

35 mm precipitation, up to 50 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 600 m a.s.l Monday night. Fresh breeze from south, changing to strong breeze from the west during renoon. -7 °C to -2 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 21. February 2023

Little to no precipitation. Breeze from northwest. -14 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Oppdatert varsel: Der solen står på ventes solutløste skred.

Vêret roar seg, og faren for naturleg utløyste skred går ned. Det vil likevel ta litt tid før fokksnøflaka stabiliserer seg. Skred kan lett losne under vekta av ein skiløpar. Mykje snø har vore flytta på av vinden dei siste dagane, og fokksnøflaka er fleire stader store.

Det kan bli fleire timar med sol tysdag. Der sola får tak i bratt terreng, kan det losne laussnøskred naturleg. Dersom det blir overskya vil faren for solutløyste skred minke.
