Avalanche warning for region Romsdal Monday 26.02.2024

Be careful in and close to terrain traps and on steep slopes until the new snow has stabilized. Be aware that persistent weak layers can be hidden in the snow pack by the highest peaks.

Det ligg litt nysnø i høgda. Forholdsvis lite vind har gitt ei jamn fordeling av nysnøen. Enkelte stader ligg den som litt tjukkare flak. Eldre snødekke er prega av hard vind og mildvær med både regn og snø. Enkelte stader er det blåst fram skare og hard snø. Skjerma botnar ved dei høgaste toppane kan ha eldre mjuk fokksnø.

Svakt lag av nedføyka kantkorn kan være tilstades. Trolig kun aktuelt i skjerma botner ved dei høgaste toppene etter mildvêr og gunstige forhold for stabilisering av overliggande snø.

Kantkorn rundt skarelag djupare i snødekket er tilstades, men er ikkje eit aktivt skredproblem.

2-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Strong breeze from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the southwest during renoon. -11 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l.

Monday 26. February 2024

3 mm precipitation, up to 8 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l Monday night. Breeze from southwest. -11 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Litt nysnø og noko vind legg opp mjuke nysnøflak i leområder i høgda. Desse kan være lett å løyse ut av skiløpar. Vær derfor merksam i bratte leområder i dei delane av regionen som får mest snø.

Svake lag av kantkorn er tilstades, men ligg stort sett under tjukke lag av bærande snø. Vær likevel merksam på dette i skjerma botnar med mjuk snø ved dei høgaste toppane. Drønn og sprekker i snødekket er tydelige teikn på ustabil snø.
