You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Monday 26. February 2024

Vind siste døgnet har lagt tilgjengeleg laus snø som fokksnø av ulik hardheit i leområder. Enkelte stader ligg den ferskare fokksnøen som litt tjukkare flak. Eldre snødekke er prega av hard vind og mildvær med både regn og snø. Høgdenivå for dette mildværet vil være på omlag 8- 1000moh. Mange stader er det blåst fram skare og glasert hard snø.

Kantkorn rundt skarelag djupare i snødekket er tilstades, men er ikkje eit aktivt skredproblem.

3 mm precipitation, up to 8 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l Monday night. Breeze from southwest. -11 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 27. February 2024

Little to no precipitation. Moderate gale from southwest, changing to gale from the south during the afternoon. -11 °C to -2 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Kraftig vind vil flytte laus snø inn i leområder og gi ferske fokksnøflak her. Desse flaka kan bli løyst ut av skiløpar.

Det er lite snø tilgjengeleg for vinden, men bak større henteområder kan det bli flak av ein viss storleik. Store områder vil dermed ha mindre flak, hardare snø og lågare skredfare.
