Be careful in areas with fresh wind-deposited snow at higher elevations. A few small wet loose snow avalanches can occur under the zero degree line.

You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

I høyden er det kommet endel snø de siste dagene, mens det er bart i lavlandet. Snøgrensen varierer i regionen og er høyest i sørvendte hellinger og lengst ut mot kysten. Den eldre snøen som finnes er grovkornet smelteomvandlet og våt eller fuktig.

10 mm precipitation, up to 15 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 1200 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Strong breeze from southeast. -6 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Sunday 28. May 2023

14 mm precipitation, up to 28 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l Sunday night. Strong breeze from south, changing to strong breeze from the southwest during the afternoon. -2 °C to 3 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Over mildværsgrensen er det mulig å løse ut skred i fokksnøen fra siste dagers nedbør, men den stabiliserer seg sannsynligvis kjapt i relativ milde temperaturer.

Under mildværsgrensen kan våte løssnøskred løsne lett eller av seg selv, men her har sannsynligvis snødekket stabilisert seg noe etter regn siste døgn.

Der det fortsatt er igjen skavler kan det være fare for skavlbrudd. Enkelte glideskred kan forekomme der det ligger igjen snø på bratte sva.
