You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Mildvær søndag fukter snøoverflaten opp mot 800 moh, denne vil fryse til når det blir kaldere. Søndagens vær gir litt fersk snø i høyden. Før søndagen preget nysnø fra de siste dagene snøoverflaten. I leområder var det myk vindpåvirket snø, mens vindutsatte steder var avblåst ned til gammel snøoverflate. Eldre snøoverflate er påvirket av mildvær tidligere den siste uka opp til ca. 1200 moh.

Det er tidligere rapportert om oppbyggende omvandling av kantkorn, både i Innerdalen og Jordalsgrenda i Sunndal, og på mandag ved Oppdal. Lagene har ikke nok ugunstige egenskaper eller stor nok utbredelse til å vurderes som et aktivt skredproblem per nå.

8-10 mm precipitation. Gale from south, changing to breeze from the west during the afternoon. -10 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Monday 16. March 2020

Little to no precipitation. Breeze from southeast, changing to moderate gale from the south during the evening. -12 °C to -6 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Vindtransportert snø og nysnø over mildværsgrensen søndag og natt til mandag kan ha lagt opp flak i leheng. Enkelte steder kan disse fortsatt være ustabile, spesielt siden det stedvis skal fortsette å snø natt til mandag. Det ventes at det har kommer mest snø rundt Sunndalsøra.

Vær obs hvis solen får tatt tak i bratte fjellsider hvor det ligger fersk løssnø, da kan det gå små løssnøskred.
