You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Tuesday 15. February 2022

Over 200-300 moh og opp til fjelltopphøyde lå det tirsdag morgen 10-20 cm løs og tørr nysnø i overflaten. Vind på tirsdag kan ha ført til at snøen er lett bunden over tregrensen. Under 900 moh ligger nysnøen over et skarelag som dekker den fuktige snøen fra helgen.

Mandag ble det obsevert glidesprekker og flere små tørre- og våte løssnøskred i Sunndalen som antagelig hadde gått søndag.

1-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from southeast, changing to breeze from the southwest during the afternoon. -13 °C to -4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

No precipitation. Breeze from southeast. -15 °C to -7 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Vær forsiktig der vinden har fått bundet nysnøen til mye flak. Her kan det være lett å løse ut skred. Ferske flak av vindtransportert snø kan ligge i flere himmelretninger, så vær obs på overgangen mellom løs og lett bundet snø over tregrensen.
