Be careful in areas with wind-deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Be aware that changing wind directions have caused wind slabs in many aspects.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Opp til ca 600-700 moh ble snøoverflaten fuktet av mildværet mandag. Etter dette har det blitt litt kaldere med tilfrysing, og noen steder har fått litt nysnø. Høyere opp ligger det fokksnø av varierende hardhet. Vindutsatte formasjoner er stedvis avblåst til gammel mildværskare.

Det finnes svake lag av kantkorn nede i snødekket, men disse ligger stort sett dypt og er vanskelige å påvirke.

Mandag ble det observert et tørt løssnøskred i østvendt terreng fra Nordfjellet på Reinøya.

Little to no precipitation. Strong breeze from southeast, changing to fresh breeze from the southeast during the afternoon. -12 °C to -5 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Breeze from northeast, changing to gale from the northeast during the afternoon. -10 °C to -3 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Roligere vær fører til en gradvis stabilisering av snødekket første del av dagen. Utover ettermiddagen ventes imidlertid økende nedbør og kuling fra NØ å føre til ny vindtransport. Ferske fokksnøflak må forventes å være ustabile. Vær oppmerksom på at varierende vindretning de siste dagene fører til at det kan finnes ustabile flak også i andre himmelretninger.
