You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Etter mye mildvær har nå temperaturen sunket og snøoverflaten opp til 600-800 moh består av litt nysnø oppå skare eller fuktig snø. Høyere til fjells har snødekket stort sett vært tørt, og det kom mye snø på onsdag.

Store deler av snødekket er smelteomvandlet opp til ca 800 moh. Det er tidligere observert lag av kantkorn over ca. 500 moh, men dette anses ikke som et skredproblem nå.

2-4 mm precipitation. Precipitation as snow. Fresh breeze from east, changing to moderate gale from the northeast during the afternoon. -8 °C to -2 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Saturday 26. March 2022

5 mm precipitation, up to 12 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Strong breeze from north, changing to breeze from the northwest during the afternoon. -11 °C to -5 °C at 700 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Vind og snøbyger vil føre til ferske fokksnøflak som kan være lett å løse ut. Det er mest sannsynlig å treffe på dette i leområder mot sør.
Eldre fokksnø kan finnes i andre himmelretninger høyt til fjells, men er trolig vanskelig å løse ut.
