Increasing avalanche danger, as the conditions changes from wet spring snow to dry winter snow. A skier or a snow mobile may trigger avalanches in the fresh wind slabs.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Monday 25. April 2022

Med synkende temperatur har det kommet nysnø gradvis lavere i terrenget de siste dagene. Enkelte steder har det dannet seg fokksnøflak i fjellet. Det gamle snødekket er fuktig eller gjenfryst de fleste steder.

I slutten av mars utvikla det seg et kantkornlag rundt skarelag nede i snødekket, men dette virker nå å være avrundet eller svært vanskelig å påvirke.

2-5 mm precipitation. Precipitation as snow. Breeze from northeast, changing to strong breeze from the northwest during the evening. -10 °C to -4 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 26. April 2022

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Moderate gale from northwest. -15 °C to -9 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Tirsdag vil snøbyger ned til havnivå og kuling fra nordvest øke skredfaren noe. Det vil dannes fokksnøflak i leheng som kan være lette å løse ut. For ski- og scooterkjørere må man omstille seg fra ferdsel på våt og fuktig vårsnø, tilbake til ferdsel på lagdelt vintersnø.
