Wind and fresh snow will give instable conditions in some slopes. Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger. Avoid convex terrain.

Regionen har lite snø og gjenværende snø er smelteomvandlet og drenerer smeltevann godt. I øst- og nordvendte botner er det sammenhengende snødekke over ca 1300 moh. I sør og vestvendte områder er det lite eller ingen snø.
Natt til onsdag 29.05 ble det målt -2 grader på Vikafjell, 910 moh.

Påfyll av snø vil føre til at omfanget av nysnøflak i leområder øker. Nysnøen vil legge seg over det gamle snødekket som er hardt og glatt og en enkelt skiløper kan løse ut middels store skred. Det gamle snødekket tåler i hovedsak både regn og varme godt.
