Be careful in areas with fresh wind deposited snow. Wet avalanches can occur where the snow is wet. Be careful beneath and in the vicinity of cornices.

Snødekket ber preg av høge dagtemperaturar i starten av veka som har gjeve skare til ca 1000 moh. Under 700 moh er heile snøpakken smelteomdanna. I høgfjellet er snødekket framleis lagdelt med hard fokksnø i overflata. ryggar og kuler er avblesne ned til gamal skare. Det er generelt mykje snø i fjellet og snøgrensa går stadvis ned til havnivå.

Det ligg stadvis nedføyka overflaterim og kantkorn.

12 mm precipitation, up to 18 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 900 m a.s.l Thursday night. Fresh breeze from southeast, changing to moderate gale from the southeast during renoon. -3 °C to 1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 18. March 2022

8-12 mm precipitation. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Strong breeze from west. -4 °C to 0 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Kraftig vind frå vest og ny nedbør vil byggje fokksnøflak i austlege leområder. Det er òg eldre flakdanningar i nordvestleg terreng som treng tid for å stabilisere seg.

Relativt høge temperaturar om våren gjev fare for glideskred. Ver spesielt merksam i sørvendte heng der det ligg mykje snø på sva. Unngå områder under glidesprekkar.
