Avalanche problems

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can very easily trigger avalanches on many steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3). Remote triggering is possible.

Avalanche risk assessment

Stor skredfare på grunn av store nysnømengder og kraftig vind. Ytre og vestlige strøk mest utsatt. Naturlig utløste skred forventes, og skred kan løsne i både vedvarende svakt lag og i ustabil fokksnø. Skred kan bli store dersom de går i heng der det enda ikke har gått skred. Fare for skred på vei.
