Avalanche warning for region Heiane Friday 24.05.2019

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Tidligere i mai kom det en del snø, og nå og da har det kommet et og annet nytt dryss av nysnø i fjellet. Både ny og gammel snø er smelteomvandlet og det er stort sett god drenering for smeltevann i snødekket.

Det er stort sett ikke sammenhengende skiføre, men unntak av skyggevendte botner på de høyeste toppene.

14 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Breeze from south. 1 °C to 8 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Friday 24. May 2019

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Calm/light breeze from southwest, changing to breeze from the northwest during the afternoon. 0 °C to 7 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Snødekket er trolig smelteomvandlet og stabilt i alle høyder og himmelretninger. Det er kun på de høyeste toppene det forsatt er snø, og i skyggenvendte formasjoner kan man finne snøfonner som har tenkt til å oversomre.

Selvom det kommer litt regn i løpet av natten og selvom solen kommer frem i løpet av dagen, vil det være vanskelig å løse ut skred i den smelteomvandlete snøen.
