Avalanche warning for region Heiane Monday 15.03.2021

Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Snøoverflata per generelt preg av mykje vind og med fokksnø i typiske leområder. Avblåst på toppar og ryggar. Det eldre snødekket er jamt over smelteomvandla til fjelltopphøgde. Under 700 moh har det veksla mellom sludd og regn. Det er lite snø i låglandet og generelt for årstida.

Det er observert byrjande kantkorn i nederste del av snødekket, men desse er låst av hard skare og vanskeleg å påverke.

Det var fredag observert nokre våte laussnøskred i bratte heng nær Øvstabøstølen.

No precipitation. Breeze from north. -8 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Clear skies.

Rolegare vêr og synkande temperatur er gunstig for stabiliseringa av snødekket. I leheng mot nordvest til nordaust ligg det fokksnøflak som treng tid for å stabilisere seg.
