Overflaten veksler mellom bærende skare, nysnø og lett vindtransportert fokksnø. Det er god snøsåle for skikjøring.
Det finnes et kantkornlag ved bakken fra ca. 1000 moh. og oppover. Dette regnes ikke som et skredproblem bortsett fra der snødekket ligger på sva eller der det lå snø fra i fjor.
Tirsdag morgen var det på Blåsjø i Bykle (1105 moh) -4 °C og rolige vindforhold.

2-4 mm precipitation. Rain up to 500 m a.s.l during renoon. Breeze from east, changing to strong breeze from the southeast during the evening. -11 °C to -3 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

25 mm precipitation, up to 35 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l Wednesday night. Moderate gale from east. -8 °C to -2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Nytt, stort snøfall og vind opp i sterk kuling gir økning i skredfaren. Størst fare fra formiddagen og i heng som vender mot nordvest og vest. Skred kan løsne av seg selv. Regn i lavlandet gjør at snøskredfaren blir størst over tregrensa.
