Fresh windslabs can be easy to trigger in higher areas. There may be areas with surface hoar under the fresh slabs.

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1) Remote triggering is possible.

Sol og klart vær har gitt smelting på dagtid og gjenfrysing om natten de siste dagene. I høyden er det mye fin, uttørket snø i overflaten på bærende skare. På utsatte plasser er det avblåst ned til skare.

Sol og klarvær har gitt oppbyggende omvandling høyt i snødekket, og dette har ført til løsere snø i overflaten. Det er dannet kantkorn litt nede i snødekket og overflaterim mange steder.

Little to no precipitation. Strong breeze from northwest, changing to fresh breeze from the northwest during renoon. -13 °C to -5 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Sunday 5. March 2023

No precipitation. Fresh breeze from northwest. -15 °C to -6 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Clear skies.

Avalanche risk assessment

Det kan på utsatte plasser være lett å løse ut små skred. Spesielt i leheng mot øst og sør, der vind kan ha lagt opp ferske flak. Stedvis kan disse ligge over et svakt lag med overflaterim.
Sprekker og drønn i snødekket er tydelige tegn på ustabilitet.

I bratte solsider kan det løsne noen mindre løssnøskred.

Ellers generelt stabile forhold.
