Avalanche warning for region Heiane Tuesday 02.05.2023

Danger level 1 - Low avalanche danger

Published:
Favorable conditions. Warm temeratures and sun give increased danger of wet avalanches. Glide avalanches are possible.

Avalanche problems

Wet snow (loose snow avalanches)

Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Loose snow

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Mountain weather

Monday 1. May 2023

20 mm precipitation, up to 30 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as rain. Fresh breeze from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the northwest during the afternoon. -2 °C to 2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 2. May 2023

1-3 mm precipitation. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from northwest. -9 °C to 1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment

Sol og varme vil kunne føre til noen løssnøskred i bratt terreng med myk våt snø.

Ellers ventes stort sett stabile forhold.
