Generally unstable conditions. Avoid lee areas with wind deposited snow, especially in the alpine. Naturally released avalanches can occur.

Snøoverflaten består hovedsakelig av fokksnø med varierende hardhet, vindutsatte områder er avblåst med skare eller barmark. Det gamle snødekket anses som stabilt etter "Gyda" og gjenfrysing, unntatt høyt til fjells. Generelt lite snø i lavlandet og i ytre del. Mest snø i indre og høyereliggende del av regionen.

Mandag meldte observatør om 20-25 cm nysnø i Jølster og Stryn, tirsdag 10 cm nysnø og vindtransport over 7-800 moh på Utvikfjellet. Stedvis har vinden påvirket snøen under skoggrensa. "Gyda" fuktet det gamle snødekket til bunns opp til i hvert fall 1000 moh, også i indre strøk.

15 mm precipitation, up to 20 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Gale from northwest, changing to strong breeze from the northwest during the afternoon. -13 °C to -6 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Nysnø og vind fra NV fortsetter å gi fersk fokksnø i leheng. I noen heng med mye fersk fokksnø vil det være lett å løse ut store skred. Høyt til fjells der nedbøren de siste dagene har kommet som snø kan skred løsne naturlig. Indre deler av regionen er mest utsatt.
