Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Naturally released avalanches can occur. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det gamle snødekket består av smelteomvandlet fuktig snø med innslag av skarelag, som stort sett drenerer godt.
Lørdag og søndag var det mildt helt til topps og snøen forventes å være fuktig i overflaten. På de høyeste fjelltoppene kan det fortsatt finnes lag av tørrere snø dypere i snødekke som ikke er gjennomfuktet.

Det har de siste dagene blitt observert naturlig utløste våte løssnøskred flere steder i regionen.

Observasjon søndag forteller om gjennomfuktet snødekke på 1400 moh, mulig høyere. På Spørteggbu målestasjon (1585 moh) har det vært plussgrader siden lørdag.

Avalanche risk assessment

Høy temperatur og soloppvarming gir skredproblemer som er knyttet til vannmettet snøoverflate (våte løssnøskred) eller gjennomfuktet snødekke (glideskred). Skred kan løsne naturlig, og faren er størst utpå dagen.

Unngå terreng under glidesprekker og hold avstand til skavler.
