Locally unstable conditions. A skier or a snow mobile may trigger avalanches in the fresh wind slabs, while persistent weak layers deeper in the snow in general is hard to trigger.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2). Remote triggering is possible.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

I terreng som vender mot sola består snødekket i hovedsak av smelteomvandlet snø. I nordvendte sider kan det finnes tørrsnø, noen steder med overflatekantkorn, som kan gi raskt skiføre. Lengst ned mot fjorden er det nå barmark. Snøgrensa er lavest i nordlige sider og betydelig høyere i fjellsider mot sør.

Det finnes et vedvarende svakt lag av kantkorn som ble dannet første helgen i påskeuka. Trolig har mildvær tatt knekken på dette i sydvendt terreng. Den siste perioden har det ikke vært observert faretegn som kan knyttes til dette i noen himmelretninger.

2 mm precipitation, up to 7 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l during renoon. Strong breeze from west, changing to fresh breeze from the northwest during the afternoon. -7 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.
