Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Be also careful in areas with wind deposited snow, especially close to terrain traps. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Wind drifted snow (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Snødekket er preget av mye regn de siste dagene og er smelteomdannet og homogent. Over ca 1000 moh har nedbøren periodevis kommet som snø. Rundt de høyeste toppene ligger det derfor mye nysnø. I nordhellinger høyt til fjells kan det fortsatt finnes lagdelt vintersnø. Mange steder i fjellet er det fortsatt bra med snø for årstiden, men rygger og rabber har mange steder smelta fram. Snøgrensa nærmer seg tregrensa mange steder, høyest i bratt sørvendt.

Fredag er flere våte løssnøskred mellom 1300 og 1000 moh observert i bratt terreng i Vanndalen/ Jostedalen.
