Det er lite snø i terrenget og mykje oppstikkande stein. Snøgrensa er på 450 -750 moh. Den er lågast i indre strøk. På snøoverflata er det stort sett bærande skare. Under skaren ligg det somme stader eit laust lag av kantkorn.
