You can trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

De siste dagene har vært preget av mildvær og mye nedbør.

Over 500 moh, der nedbøren har kommet som snø, er det nå betydelig ansamling av fokksnø i leområder. De mest vindutsatte områdene er avblåst.

Det er observert kantkorn i forbindelse med et skarelag fra januar. Laget er stort sett låst under hard fokksnø og er vanskelig å påvirke.

8 mm precipitation, up to 14 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 800 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the west during renoon. -8 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Wednesday 9. March 2022

No precipitation. Breeze from southeast. -9 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Skredfaren er trolig knyttet til fokksnøen. Fokksnøen ventes å stabilisere seg raskt og det vil være vanskelig å løse ut skred.

Vær oppmerksom på våt snø i lavlandet. Men også denne vil raskt stabilisere seg.
