Naturally triggered avalanches may occur. Avoid areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies.

Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury a car or destroy a small house (size 3).

Det har kommet mye snø på få dager og i skogen ligger det opp mot 50cm ubuden snø. Snødekke ned til fjorden. Snødekket over skogen preges av fokksnø av ulik hardhet. Kraftig vind lørdag har herjet og vindutsatte formasjoner er avblåst til skare eller bakken mens lune formasjoner har samlet store mengder snø. Det er generelt mye snø.

Lørdag meldes det om flere små naturlig utløste løssnøskred i Norangsdalen.

12 mm precipitation, up to 20 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 200 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Strong breeze from southwest, changing to fresh breeze from the west during the evening. -11 °C to -5 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Monday 7. February 2022

15 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l during renoon. Strong breeze from northwest, changing to fresh breeze from the west during the afternoon. -9 °C to -3 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Vinden snur og kommer fra nordvest. I det bygene treffer kan det være lett å løse ut skred i fokksnøen. Flere steder vil det ligge store ansamlinger av fokksnø, og skred som løsner kan bli store. Fokksnøflak fra dagene tidligere i uka ventes å være stabile.

Noe roligere på ettermiddagen men på kvelden snur vinden igjen og øker på fra sørvest. Det legger seg fokksnø i nye leområder og endrer mest utsatt himmelretning.
