I snøoverflata i fjellet finnes fokksnø etter bygevær fra NV forrige helg kombinert med tidvis kraftig vind. Det gamle snødekket består i hovedsak av smelteomvandlet snø. Snøgrensa ligger mellom 300-400 moh.

Høye temperaturer ventes å føre til naturlig utløste skred. I sørvendte fjellsider vil også sola varme snødekket. Skred kan løsne både som våte løssnøskred og som flakskred i overgangen mellom gammal snø og siste fokksnøen.
