You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Mildvær og regn har fuktet nysnøen opp til 600-700 moh. Langs kysten er det lite eller ingen snø ved havnivå.
I fjellet ligger det bra med snø i leheng etter at kraftig vind har flyttet på snøen. På rygger og topper kan det være avblåst og oppstikkende stein.

Torsdag ble det observert kantkorn dypt i snødekket, under harde og bærende skarelag. Utbredelsen er ukjent.

5 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l Friday night. Fresh breeze from south. -8 °C to -3 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Saturday 18. February 2023

10 mm precipitation, up to 18 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 200 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Breeze from southeast, changing to moderate gale from the northwest during the afternoon. -9 °C to -4 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Vind og nysnø gir ferske fokksnøflak som er lett for en skiløper å løse ut. Skred kan løsne innad i fokksnøen eller skli på skaren. Enkelte steder, der det samler seg mest snø, kan skredene bli store.
