If the sun comes out, direct sunlight will weakens the fresh snow. Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Keep a safe distance to cornices.

Monday 1. May 2023

På fjellet over ca 600 moh det mye innblåst fokksnø over gammel smelt/frys skare, men det er også mulig å finne løs snø i skjermet terreng. Mengde snø øker med høyde over havet. Lavere i terrenget er det hardt og smelteomvandlet snødekke. Den gamle snøpakka er trolig smelteomvandlet opp til rundt 1000 moh.

Søndag ble det fjernutløst to str 2 skred i nordvendt terreng ved Høgtinden rundt 1200 moh. Det ble også meldt om skytende sprekker.

4 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 400 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from south, changing to breeze from the southeast during the evening. -6 °C to -2 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 2. May 2023

2 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 300 m a.s.l during renoon. Breeze from northwest, changing to fresh breeze from the north during the afternoon. -12 °C to -1 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Endret vindretning og vindøkning om ettermiddagen vil gi transport av snø inn i nye leområder. Vær forsiktig der det er fersk fokksnø. Problemet er størst i de områdene som har fått mest nysnø den siste tiden. I andre deler av regionen vil skredproblemet oppleves som mindre aktuelt eller fraværende.

Der sola bryter igjennom skydekket kan det i bratt og soleksponert terreng løsne enkelte våte skred. Skredfaren er størst i lune formasjoner som får direkte solinnstråling.
