The avalanche danger varies during the day. The danger is at its highest in steep sun exposed slopes and in the afternoon when the air temperature is high.

Avalanches may release spontaneously on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Sol og høye dagtemperaturer gjør at snøen i solutsatt terreng fuktes opp om dagen, og kalde nattetemperaturer gjør at det våte snødekket fryser til om natten. I skyggefullt terreng består snøoverflaten i hovedsak av harde og igjenfrosset smelteformer.

Det er observert kantkorn over rundt 500 moh både rundt mildværsskare fra 23. januar og fra 27. februar. De anses ikke være et skredproblem per nå.

Avalanche risk assessment

Fortsatt mildvær og rolig forhold. Skyet vær om natten fører til mindre tilfrysning av snødekket, når temperaturen stiger utover dagen og solen tar tak vil det være lett å løse ut skred i den våte snøen. Små til middels store skred kan løsne av seg selv der snødekket blir mest påvirket. Vær også oppmerksom på skavler som blir svekket grunnet høye temperaturer.
