Be careful in lee areas with wind deposited snow, typically behind ridges, ribs and in gullies. Especially where the wind deposited slabs are thin or soft, a slab avalanche is easier to trigger here.

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

I slutten av forrige uke kom det 10-30 cm nysnø, mest i nordvestlige deler av regionen. Vind fra NV−N lørdag har flyttet det meste av nysnøen inn i leområder.
Det gamle snødekket har vært vært fuktet opp til ca 800-900 moh, og er gjennomfuktet opp til 5-600 moh.
Der det er avblåst består snøoverflaten av skare.

I indre deler av regionen finnes fortsatt svake lag ved bakken som kan kollapse ved svært stor tilleggsbelastning der snødekket er tynt.

2-5 mm precipitation. Precipitation as snow. Breeze from north, changing to fresh breeze from the southeast during the afternoon. -17 °C to -10 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Monday 28. March 2022

4 mm precipitation, up to 10 mm in the most exposed areas. Precipitation as snow. Breeze from northeast, changing to fresh breeze from the north during the evening. -17 °C to -8 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Snøbyger og litt vind fører til at det kan dannes enkelte ferske og ustabile fokksnøflak i leområder, vesentlig i ytre strøk.
Eldre fokksnø kan finnes i de fleste himmelretninger, men er i ferd med å stabiliseres.

Soloppvarming kan føre til at det går noen små naturlig utløste løssnøskred i bratt solvendt terreng.

Svake lag med kantkorn kan stedvis være under utvikling høyt i snødekket. Hvis du får faretegn som drønn eller skytende sprekker er det tegn på at svake lag er til stede, og at skredterreng bør unngås.
